Dhe DFB women finished last in the Arnold Clark Cup in England. The selection of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg lost on Wednesday in the last game of the four-nation tournament against hosts England 1: 3 (1: 1). Lina Magull (41st minute) scored in Wolverhampton for the young German team, which had to do without 14 possible EM riders. In the end, the English won ahead of Spain, who had previously beaten Olympic champions Canada 1-0 (1-0). The Arnold Clark Cup is considered an important location determination in the year of the European Championship.

England’s record goalscorer Ellen White (15′), Millie Bright (84′) and Fran Kirby (90’+3′) scored for England, while Magull equalized with a spectacular free kick in front of 13,436 spectators. The ball hit the underside of the bar and from there bounced into the net unstoppable for goalkeeper Ellen Roebuck.

Only rarely, for example through Maximiliane Rall and Lina Magull, did the DFB team create dangerous chances in the first half hour. Rall played the ball straight into Roebuck’s arms, however, and Magull fired wide of the goal after the England keeper missed a pass.
