As already reported, the award in the nomination “Best Organizer” – for the best organized stage of the FIA World Rallycross Championship – was presented to Raimonds Stroks, Director of RA Events, for the double stage of the FIA World Rallycross Championship “Ferratum World RX of Riga” held in Riga last September.
This is the fourth time that the FIA World RX Championship stage in Riga has received the highest rating of the International Automobile Federation (FIA). Previously, the best stage of the World RX season on the Biķernieki track was recognized for the first time in 2016, which was followed by equal recognition for the stages in 2017 and 2019.
“Each competition brings its own challenges,” begins the director of RA Events Raimonds Strokšs. “Looking back to 2021 – this was a very unique experience for all of us, because we received confirmation that we will be able to organize the competition in the summer – only a few months before the scheduled date of the competition; in addition, we were entrusted with a double stage. At that time, there were no supporters and partners or a competition plan for the competition. We realized that we would have to adapt and live with the established restrictions of Covid-19. And yet we took a risk, accepted the offer of the World RX organizer and started persistent and hard work to provide Latvian rallycross fans with a historically unforgettable race – for the last time to see the magic of Supercar cars in Riga. Let me remind you that the season of 2021 was the final one, when the world champion in rallycross was determined with such cars. ”
