The Spanish Rafael Nadal advanced to the quarterfinals of the Mexican Tennis Open-2022 this Wednesday after defeating the American Stefan Kozlov in two sets with partials of 6-0 and 6-3 at the GNP Seguros Arena in Acapulco.
Nadal, number five in the world and fourth seed in the tournament, beat Kozlov (130/ATP) in one hour and 16 minutes and 41 seconds.
With this performance, at 35 years old, Nadal has signed the best start to the season in his career with 12 wins, leaving behind the 11 of 2014.
The Mexican Open is an ATP 500 category tournament that distributes a purse of 1.2 million dollars in prizes.
