Young Badminton Stars Represent Le Volant Salanquais at Regional Championship
The start of the year has been a whirlwind of activity for young badminton players, with three regional competitions taking place within a single month. Recently, the spotlight shone on Limoux as it hosted the third stage of the regional youth championship. Three promising athletes from the Le Volant Salanquais badminton school (LVS) were chosen by the department committee to represent both their club and the region: Ludovic Morera, Camille Morera, and Glen Morat.
This competition proved to be a challenging experience for the trio, who are still honing their skills in men’s doubles. Glen partnered with Ludovic in the minimal category, while Camille teamed up with Vicenç Canal-Prats Argelès. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to advance beyond the group stages.
Though, ludovic Morera shone brightly in the men’s singles category, securing a well-deserved victory and claiming the title in the minimal division. This impressive performance highlights the dedication and talent of these young athletes, who are undoubtedly ones to watch in the future of badminton.

Alain Berger: You need a combination of factors. First and foremost, innate talent and a passion for the game. But it’s not enough; meticulous training, tactical awareness, physical conditioning, and mental fortitude are absolutely crucial.
Me: Now, looking at the bigger picture, what are your thoughts on the state of youth badminton in France? Do you see a bright future ahead?
Alain Berger: We have promising young talent, that much is clear. But competition is fierce at the international level. We need to continue grooming these talents, invest in better coaching infrastructures, and provide more opportunities for international exposure.
Me: You bring up a crucial point - international exposure. How critically important is it for young players to experience competitions beyond their national borders?
Alain Berger: Absolutely vital. Competing against different playing styles, cultures, and intensity levels is invaluable for their growth. It exposes them to new strategies, builds resilience, and ultimately prepares them for the global stage.
Me: So, what advice would you give to aspiring young badminton players who dream of making it to the top?
Alain Berger:
Dedication, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of improvement. Never stop learning, embrace challenges, and believe in yourself. Surround yourself with a strong support system of coaches, family, and peers who believe in your dreams.
