Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun Community Security Council held the 43rd Representative Council meeting at the county office meeting room on the 23rd with 20 members in attendance.
In order to shorten the meeting time due to COVID-19, the meeting was briefly conducted, including delivery of a letter of appointment according to the composition of the 4th executive, election of a civilian chairperson, and approval of the original draft of 8 items for deliberation.
The 4th representative council members were appointed ex officio 5 ex officio members and 20 private members with rich knowledge and experience in various fields such as affiliated institutions, facilities and organizations and who could represent the welfare needs of the residents.
Kim Dong-gyu, the representative of ‘Today’s Youth Growth Center,’ was elected as the chairperson of the private sector. Kim Dong-gyu served as the president of the Yeonggwang Youth Chamber and is continuously working for the local community as a member of the Hanbit Nuclear Safety Council, as well as the Yeonggwang-gun Badminton Club and Hapkido Association.
An official from the local social security council said, “We plan to carefully examine major local issues and organize the 5th local social security plan to be established this year into realistic and effective projects tailored to local characteristics.”
Meanwhile, the 4th consultative body is composed of a working-level council, working sub-divisions, and eup/myeon councils in a structure that enables a horizontal network. It will be active for two years to increase coverage.
