ROMA – More than a sting, it is a sharp blow of the guillotine: the Roma remains without a head after the sum of qualifications decided by the sports judge. Mourinho takes two days (and a 20,000 euro fine), the same goes for the goalkeeper trainer Nuno Santos; the general manager Tiago Pinto is suspended until March 8 (so in fact he too for two games) and even the athletic trainer Stefano Rapetti is stopped for a shift (with a 5,000 euro fine). Sunday to Spice, when the newest member Salvatore Foti will lead the team as a coach, a mutilated coaching staff will go. However, Roma will appeal to rehabilitate Mourinho, Tiago Pinto and the rest of the troops in time for the match againstAtalanta of 6 February. The lawyer Contethe company’s trusted man for sports justice issues, is already examining the papers to lodge an appeal.
Rome, the Pairetto affair
(…) This is perhaps the most important element of the whole story: the sporting director of Romeor rather the general manager, has «Confronted in an impetuous way the referee and, even if held back by his own coach, addressed to him serious insinuations; reduced sanction for having formally presented an apology to the race director at a later time, accepted by the same ». Basically Tiago Pinto, at the end of Rome-Verona, he was out of his mind, even more than Mourinho, so much so that he quickly went down to the locker room, from the grandstand, to wait for Pairetto to return. The inspectors of the federal prosecutor found a series of references to Juventus and in particular to the referee’s brother, Albertowho works as a fan manager at the you. In practice, both Tiago Pinto and Mourinho, both Portuguese, foreshadowed in the same excited minutes the suspicion that the arbitration was “piloted”. This also explains the gesture of the coach’s telephone, which the whole world has seen on live television. The meaning: the phone call, virtual or not, would have reached Pairetto, who was the son of Calciopoli’s designator, by someone who had an interest in slowing down in pursuit of Rome in fourth place. The fact, however, is that Pairetto, despite poor refereeing, had very little impact on the tie, beyond the disputed four minutes of injury time.
