Antonio Cassano rate AS Roma so bad under Jose Mourinho. The Capital Wolves are struggling in Serie A this season.

Mourinho moved to AS Roma earlier this season. Prior to managing Roma, Mourinho was unemployed after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in April 2021.

The presence of The Special One had brought great hopes for Roma. Mourinho’s experience and cold hands had made Roma look promising in matches this season.

Roma have won their first six games under Mourinho. But after that, the performance of the Capital Wolves was inconsistent, especially after the humiliating 1-6 defeat to Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League.

Most recently, Roma drew 2-2 with Hellas Verona on the verge of losing. Mourinho’s troops survived defeat after being two goals down thanks to the scores of young players Cristian Vulpato (18 years) and Eduardo Bove (19 years).

These results make Rui Patricio et al still fell to the order of eight with 41 points. In the match against Verona, Mourinho also threw a tantrum by getting a red card for insulting the referee. Mourinho then received additional sanctions banned from accompanying the team in two games due to this action.

Former AS Roma player, Antonio Cassano is so concerned about the current condition of Roma under Mourinho. The man who played for Roma from 2001-2006 considered Mourinho to do his job worse than at Tottenham.

The Lilywhites with Mourinho finished sixth in the Premier League and were able to penetrate the English League Cup final. Meanwhile, apart from stumbling in Serie A, Roma have also been knocked out of the Coppa Italia this season. Their chances of winning a trophy seem to only exist in the Europa Conference League.

“Rome is a disaster,” Cassano told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“He has done very badly since the 1-6 defeat. Mourinho did worse than Tottenham. But the media always sees him as The Special One. I don’t like him,” he explained.
