The most successful judo heart in Zittau no longer beats

Maik Binsch was born on August 31, 1965.

He is a completely normal child until December 1st, 1973 – on this day he starts with judo. This sport will never let him go.

Together with his Heike he has three great daughters: Nicole, Fanny and Luisa.

After the political turnaround, he founded a removals company, which has remained on the market and successfully established itself to this day.

Over the years he continues to train, taking the exams for all DAN grades in judo as an exam. He does this for the last time on July 17th, 2021 with the 5th DAN – the highest master’s degree that can be achieved in judo through an examination.

Through hard work, he achieved bronze at the 2007 European Judo Championships.

In 2008 he initiated the international Zittau Christmas tournament. It will be held annually until the start of the corona pandemic.

For his many years of work as a judoka, Maik can be entered in the golden book of the city of Zittau on November 21, 2019.

On September 26th, 2021 he will be German champion in judo in Bad Homburg – after countless medals in previous years. Another highlight.

The year 2022 is also off to a great start: several of his protégés are accepted at the sports school in Leipzig. A testament to his qualities not only as a fighter but also as a trainer.

Maik always has an open ear for everyone. There is no no with him. Whether as a sponsor, worker or friend. Maik is always there when he is needed. Incidentally, he is also a loving grandfather, father, husband, brother, son and much more for his family and companions.

And then comes February 22nd, 2022: He trains normally. But in the evening his heart just stops beating. Maik dies in the arms of his beloved Heike. A successful and eventful life comes to an end far too early after only 56 years. Simply that way.

Dear Maik,

You were a great friend and role model to all of us. Everything you did was 100% – we will forever remember you and honor your memory!

Dear Heike, Nicole, Fanny and Luisa,

We wholeheartedly wish you strength during this difficult time. And like Maik, you and your families are part of our judo family. We will help you where we can and as best we can.

We bow with RE.
