Werder Bremen: After the vaccination card scandal – the beginning has to pay 36,000 euros

Dhe former Werder coach Markus Anfang has to pay a fine totaling 36,000 euros for using a fake vaccination card.

At the request of the public prosecutor’s office, the Bremen district court issued a penalty order for 90 daily rates of 400 euros each against the native of Cologne. This was announced by the authority on Thursday afternoon. A penalty order was also issued against the initial assistant coach Florian Junge. However, the public prosecutor’s office did not give any details.

On November 20th, the Bremen Health Department initiated investigations against Beginners and Youngsters because of the use of fake vaccination cards. Two days later, both resigned from their posts at second division Werder Bremen. As early as January, the sports court of the German Football Association (Deutscher Fußball-Bund) suspended him for a year with retrospective effect from November 20 and sentenced him to a fine of 20,000 euros. This ban will be suspended on probation from June 10 until mid-2023.
