A few years ago, Club Brugge brought in a great talent with Marc-André Kruska. The midfielder came over from Borussia Dortmund, where he had already gained a lot of experience. However, his Belgian adventure was not a great success.
The then 21-year-old midfielder was allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund and could count on a lot of interest. Bee IMAGE Kruska reveals that Real Madrid were also interested and that he almost signed for the Royal. “My agent said that Bruges wanted me too and that I had to think twice,” he explains.
At Real Madrid, Kruska would initially play for the second team and later get a chance in the first team. At Club Brugge he was taken as a basic pawn, so he chose Blauw-Zwart. That was not a success.
He eventually only played one season for the Bruggelingen and then already returned to Germany. “In retrospect, I regret my decision to reject Real. I should have just made the move to Madrid,” said Kruska.
In the end Kruska played for Energie Cottbus, FSV Frankfurt, SC Paderborn, the second team of Werder Bremen and F91 Dudelange.
