Organizing the sporting event was a real challenge both for Les Archers de la Double, the local archery association, and for the city’s sports department headed by Alain Trotet and the technical agents of the common. After the defection of the city which had initially been expected to host the competition, the leaders of the Ligue de Nouvelle-Aquitaine, starting with its technical director Patrick Nourisson, the club and the municipal staff had only three weeks to organize the event.

A successful bet, the 14 events of the competition were able to take place as well as possible thanks to the mobilization of all. The gymnasium welcomed 108 archers, 34 women and 74 men in three different disciplines: recurve archery (a simple bow equipped with a sight and a stabilizer), barebow (a bow without its accessories) and the much more sophisticated compound bow. The archers came from all over New Aquitaine. 47 clubs were present. Marion Bardary, who is currently trying to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, competed in the events. Six national referees have volunteered to ensure the smooth running of these championships.
The medals were presented by Virginie Arnold, the president of the regional Federation, team bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Jean-Michel Sautreau, mayor of La Roche-Chalais, and Françoise Beauvais, widow of Jean-Denis Beauvais , died a year ago. On this occasion, the world of archery had a thought for the founder and president of the Archers de la Double club, who was also a referee and president of the Dordogne departmental committee, while assuming many responsibilities at the federation.
