“I can assist you now, in 10 minutes take my weapon and go to defend my people”

Lhe situation that terrifies Ukraine has already reached sport. Beyond changes of venue, exclusions or not of Russian athletes in competitions, there are several athletes who have been called up. One of them is Nikita Fedotov, an exporter from Montijo, who attended Radio MARCA dressed as a soldier and from the Ukrainian army battalion: “I can assist you now, in 10 minutes I will be with my weapon defending my people”said in the first answer of the interview.

His testimony goes on to describe the situation in the country: “Everything is very bad. Right now it’s fatal. We have to be ready for when Russia comes act as protectors. I have not considered leaving. I want to be here. My family wanted to go to Europe but I didn’t. I can not”.

Nikita, convinced of the defense of his people, is convinced of the idea of defending his people: “I’m not afraid. I can’t be afraid. I am with my family, who help the military and my father is a military man. We need to be prepared. We can’t do anything else. I’m a man and that’s what I have to do.”

Who is to blame for everything that is happening? Nikita does not hold her tongue: “Everyone knows whose fault it is for what is happening. I don’t understand why they do this. We have strong people. We are ready. All people help: men, women… Everyone helps because we are Ukrainians and we are strong.”

Her country, Ukraine, is lonely. Nikita describes the neglect they are experiencing from the rest of Europe: “Our president has asked for help many times. We don’t want war. We want to talk. We are in the middle of Europe and if Russia moves forward she is going to go for the next thing.”
