City Football Group (CFG) is looking to buy French second division Nancy. The group, which already owns several clubs around the world, including Manchester City, had to paralyze talks due to the coronavirus, but they should soon resume.
The current president of Nancy, Jacques Rousselot, believes in the completion of the transaction as soon as things return to normal. To “L’Équipe”, he stated that the agreement would have been closed at the end of March, but the coronavirus prevented it.
“We still want to acquire Nancy. We are facing a global crisis. Today, there are aspects over which we have no control, but despite this, we have not changed direction,” the CFG said in a statement.
The clubs managed by the CFG are: Manchester City (England), New York City (USA), Melbourne City (Australia), Yokohama F. Marinos (Japan), Guayaquil City (Ecuador), Montevideo City Torque (Uruguay), Girona (Spain ), Sichuan Jiuniu (China) and Mumbai City (India).
