The sports world of Asti is in mourning for the death of the eighty-eight year old Adele Manfredda Promis, president of the Judo Olimpic Asti asd since the foundationwhich took place in 2006.
Mrs Adele – that from a young age she has always been a very sporty womanpracticing artistic gymnastics at good levels and also enjoying skiing – she had become passionate about this noble sporting art in the 70sbringing the children to the lessons taught by the M ° Franco Balladellian iconic figure of this sport, which the Maestro practiced since 1955.
An interest – that, over the years, it has led her to become the first president of the jury and subsequently to ‘climb’ the various technical roles up to the position of president of a meritorious national jury – that it was not even scratched when the children left the sporting activity by choicealthough both Luciana and Maria Teresa appear among the first Asti black belts as agonists.
You have continued to take an interest in judo becoming, in the mid-1980s, president of the judo section of the Polisportiva Cassa di Risparmio di Asti e in 2006 he assumed the presidency of the Judo Olimpic Asti asd e also obtaining the Coni Bronze Star for sporting merits.
A visceral love for this martial art which in the family has been handed down from generation to generation, up to the granddaughter Silvia Pellitteri – member of the Italian national judo team, silver medal at the 2019 European Championships and winner of many tournaments – daughter of Luciana Promis.
“Despite the passing of the years – he pointed out Gianni Balladellison of Maestro Franco, who passed away in September 2007, and in turn a master of judo – he never missed his presence at the Memorial named after my father, with whom he collaborated for many years. He was very keen to participate and give his motivational speech to the athletes present. It is a huge loss for us, but she will always remain our president”.
The rosary of Mrs. Promis is scheduled for this evening, at 20.30, at the small church of Valmanera where, tomorrow afternoon at 10.30, the funeral will also take place.
