Young Judo Stars Shine at National Tournament
The Grenchen Judo Club celebrated a triumphant return to competition at the national school judo tournament in Oensingen. After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, the event saw enthusiastic participation and fierce competition, with the Grenchen team achieving remarkable success.
Nearly all of the ten young judokas representing Grenchen secured a place on the podium, showcasing their dedication and skill. “our delegation from Grenchen performed brilliantly,” remarked a club representative. “From first to fifth place, we had depiction across the board.”

The tournament saw several standout performances from the Grenchen Judo Club:
Napolitano Tiziano (Student B) secured a well-deserved second place.
Cetay Martha (Girls B) fought her way to a commendable third place finish.
Lanz raphael (Student C) displayed notable technique, earning him a second place spot.
niederhäuser Yamiro (Student C) battled valiantly to claim third place.
Garcia Alessia (Girls C) showcased her strength and agility, securing a third place finish.
Suarey Rosana (Girls C) demonstrated exceptional skill, earning a second place position.
Chef Jasmine (Girls C) dominated her category, taking home the gold medal.
zinglia Alissia (Girls C) fought hard to achieve a well-deserved third place.
Knellwolf Ayla (Pupils A) displayed promising talent,finishing in fifth place.
Ristov Iliana (Pupils A) put up a strong fight, securing a fifth place ranking.

Erika: It’s truly remarkable. To have that level of success across nearly every weight category speaks volumes about the coaching and dedication within the club. It’s clear thay emphasize both individual skill development and a strong team spirit.
Host: We saw some astounding individual performances too.Chef Jasmine, such as, dominated her category to take home gold.And Napolitano Tiziano,Lanz Raphael,and Suarey Rosana all secured impressive runner-up spots. As someone who knows the pressures of competition, what do you make of these individual breakthroughs?
Erika: Each those athletes showcased something special. Jasmine’s dominance shows remarkable composure and technical mastery.Tiziano, Raphael, and Rosana’s silver medals demonstrate real potential— they’re right on the cusp of that top spot.That hunger to win is crucial at this stage of their careers.
Host: I agree,those near misses can be incredibly motivational. Looking at Grenchen’s strong showing in the younger age groups, do you see the club becoming a powerhouse in Judo in the coming years?
Erika: I wouldn’t be surprised at all. These young athletes, like Ayla Knellwolf and Iliana Ristov, are gaining valuable experience.The fact that they finished in the top five at a national level is no small feat. With continued hard work and the right mentorship, I see a radiant future for the Grenchen Judo Club.
