“I don’t think I’ve ever been in better shape,” he declared. “If I can’t win now, I don’t think I could have done it before. It’s a combination of experience and maturity.”

Marcel Kittel: Quick Step has a history of tactical brilliance. While I’m sure Jakobsen could carry the team, they have the depth to play it smart. Remember, Kasper Asgreen won that race, and Jakobsen played a key role.

This year he needs to be ready to capitalize on any opportunity that arises. Smart team tactics can make all the difference.

Jakobsen mentioned Jasper Philipsen as a key rival. Do you think it’s accurate to call them the leaders of this “new generation” of sprinters?

Marcel Kittel: Philipsen is another young talent with real potential. But, calling them the leaders is a bold statement. There’s still a lot to be proven. Cavanagh and Groenewegen are still very much in the game, and they’ll be hungry to retain their crown.

What about the Tour de France? Do you see both Jakobsen and Cavendish battling for a spot on the roster?

Marcel Kittel:

That’s a fantastic question! The Tour is the holy grail, and everyone wants a piece of it. Both riders are incredibly talented and deserve a shot.

Ultimately, it depends on team strategy and rider form. It’s going to be interesting to see how it unfolds.
