Good news for Bayern, especially for Manuel Neuer. As head coach Julian Nagelsmann announced on Saturday, the 35-year-old goalkeeper is about to make his comeback
Neuer underwent a completely unexpected knee operation at the beginning of February and has been out for the past three weeks. The goalkeeper has made great strides in rehab in recent days and is close to returning to the pitch.
“Manu will train specifically for the goalkeeper again next week”
According to Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, the 35-year-old could be back between the posts in the top game against Leverkusen next Saturday: “Manu will be training specifically for goalkeepers again next week. If everything goes well, he’ll be there against Leverkusen.” Bayern number one will be available again by the second leg of the Champions League at the latest, according to Nagelsmann: “But very likely against Salzburg.”
