Markelle Fultz announces her comeback | NBA

« I’m back !“. It’s not Michael Jordan, but Markelle Fultz repeated several times that he was back, and this is great news for the player, who has been out for 13 months after tearing a ligament in his left knee.

Healed, the n°1 of the 2017 Draft is ready to play again with the Magic, and his return is scheduled for Monday against the Pacers.

“I’m just lucky to be able to be where I am today after suffering an injury like this and to be able to fight back and be back on the court with my brothers and my friends “, says Markelle Fultz in the Magic Pod Squad. “First, I’m just privileged and grateful for the process and the journey I’ve been through. I am very excited to be on the field with my teammates and to be competitive. »

Poor Fultz has struggled quite a bit since his arrival in the NBA, first with a serious shoulder problem to the point of only playing 33 games in his first two seasons. Transferred to the Magic, he reveals himself, plays all the matches in 2019/20, and he signs a good contract. But his loose knee, 15 days after the start of the season.

“I feel much stronger this time around,” he explained. “This injury allowed me to work on a lot of things. My body hasn’t felt this good in a long time. I’m talking about the whole body. I can feel my muscles. I can identify certain things in my body. I think that’s probably the best thing about coming back and being able to play basketball. »

Inevitably, his recovery will be smooth, but he warns that we will find a more aggressive Fultz.

“I worked on everything. I am able to use my height to gain the upper hand in the low post. I’m able to go to places where I’m a killer, mid-range. I worked on drives with contacts, to go to the circle, to get free throws. Stuff like that. Play as before. Take my 3-pointers after a dribble. Just a bit of everything”.
