Ja Morant scores 46 points to break Grizzlies’ single-game record

Ja Morant scored 46 points on Saturday to break the Grizzlies’ record for an NBA regular-round game, the team said.

The 22-year-old point guard was essential with his production this day for his team to defeat the Chicago Bulls 116-110.

The Grizzlies are surprisingly in the hunt for a postseason berth thanks in part to Morant’s strong season.

Morant began the day on February 26 as the seventh best scorer in the league with 26.7 points per game.

This year he attended the All-Star Game for the first time, a relevant step in his climb to the elite.
