Day 3, Saturday, on the course of the PGA National and after 54 holes, the classification of Honda Classic did not change leader. After two cards of 65 (-5) recorded during the first two rounds, Daniel Berger had to settle for a day in 69 (-1). The Ryder Cup player recorded two birdies for a bogey.
With a total score of -11, Berger is firmly at the top of the general classification. The 28-year-old is five steps ahead of a group of four players: Shane Lowry, Sepp Straka, Kurt Kitayama and Chris Kirk.
Shepherd facing the pack
Only 13 players played under par this Saturday on the PGA National course. The best mark of the day is signed Shane Lowry. His card of 67 (-3) therefore allows him to find himself second.
“The key ? I managed to keep the ball in play from the start. My putting was average at the start of the week but I found something that made me feel more comfortable on the greens. It is clear that we all want to catch him on Sunday (Daniel Berger). But I don’t think we can catch anyone on this course. You just have to do your thing and play the best you can. ยป
Berger is looking for a fifth PGA Tour title. For Lowry, if successful, it would be the third time on the American circuit.
