Canadian tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime granted an interview to Eurosport to analyze all the news that surrounds him, and more specifically the success he achieved a few weeks ago in Rotterdam, when he managed to win his first professional title after many consecutive defeats in finals.
– Emotion after having won his first professional title this season:
“It was an incredible feeling. After finishing the game I went to spend time with my team and we decided to call my parents on the phone. I was very emotional. Knowing that my parents were at home cheering me on the television is incredible. These are the things for those who decide to be a professional tennis player and continue to improve day by day”.
– Feelings after accumulating numerous defeats in ATP finals:
“I tried to stay positive at all times, although sometimes I even thought that it would be better if I lost in the semi-finals than in the final. You see how much pressure I was at that time. The fact that I didn’t win in the finals became very negative for me. It’s normal for a person of my age who has a lot of pressure on his back. Whenever I got to a final I saw headlines about the possibility of breaking and that curse he had”.
– Hex cut at the ATP 500 in Rotterdam:
“I came to sign up for many ATP 250 tournaments in order to be able to break the curse as soon as possible, but finally I was able to win an ATP 500 category tournament. This makes it even more special and having eliminated great players like Rublev or Tsitsipas, among others “.

“I really liked his charisma, his game was very explosive and it was a lot of fun to watch from home. I also can’t deny the fact that we both have the same origin, skin color and very similar situation. When I was very young, Jo represented me a lot and I wanted to be like him. I idolized him and admired him a lot. I saw him as a very close person compared to other European or American players, where I felt they were a little more distant”, admitted the Canadian player, who is now preparing to the Indian Wells Masters 1000.

“It’s good for this sport to see Djokovic play. Regarding vaccination, I think he really explained it well. In the end he is not the only one, everyone is free to do what they want and we have to respect that.
