Welcome back, sports fans! Today, we have a truly inspiring guest joining us, Vincent Hybois, the dedicated coach of the French Para Archery team. Coach Hybois, thanks for taking the time to speak with us.
Vincent: It’s a pleasure to be here.
[Moderator]: As you know, the World Para Archery Championships in Dubai are a crucial stepping stone for many athletes, particularly with the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games looming on the horizon. could you tell us about your team’s preparations for this tournament and what your expectations are?
Vincent: We’ve been working incredibly hard in the lead-up to Dubai. As the article mentions, our team went through rigorous selection trials, proving their talent and consistency. We then faced a unique challenge, adapting our indoor training to simulate the outdoor conditions they’d encounter in Dubai. Imagine facing the biting French winter while preparing for the Emirati heat! It wasn’t easy, but our archers adapted remarkably despite the odds.
[Moderator]: That speaks volumes about their resilience and dedication.Speaking of challenges, the article highlights the absence of the Chinese team. This does offer a potential advantage, wouldn’t you agree?
Vincent: while I wouldn’t say it’s an advantage, it certainly changes the landscape. China has historically been a powerhouse in Paralympic archery. Their absence lets other strong teams, like ours, seize the chance to shine.
[Moderator]: Absolutely.I get the sense that there’s a palpable sense of anticipation and excitement surrounding this team. How woudl you describe the current mood in camp?
Vincent: [Laughs] Well, there’s definitely a buzz. These athletes are hungry to compete. They’ve worked tirelessly for this moment, to showcase their skills on the world stage. There’s a strong bond between them, a real camaraderie built on mutual respect and a shared passion for archery.
[Moderator]: That spirit of teamwork is often what separates great teams from good ones. Julie Rigault-Chupin is kicking things off on February 22nd. How do you expect her to perform, and what are her strengths as an athlete?
Vincent: julie is an remarkable archer – focused, resolute, and technically gifted. She’s also a team player, always willing to support her fellow archers. I expect her to perform well, but more importantly, I hope she enjoys the experience and competes with the freedom and confidence she deserves.
