Two archers from Andelys (Eure), Jean-Baptiste Leroy (centre) and Gauthier Boulanger (right) finished 1st and 3rd respectively in the Normandy championship.

After their team victory, the archers of the Andelys (Your) competed in the Normandy championship individually, which was held at Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon (Seine Maritime).

Three of them were selected. In the S2 category, Arnaud Lebougault finished in a nice 8th place.

A fratricidal duel in the semi-finals

In S1, the Compagnie d’arc des Andelys placed two of its representatives on the podium.

Jean-Baptiste Leroy emerged victorious from his fratricidal duel against Gauthier Boulanger in the semi-finals.

It was close until the end as we both scored 144 points. We were separated at the ultimate arrow and I won by a small centimetre.

He retains his title acquired in 2020

For his first participation in the regional championship, Gauthier Boulanger won the small final to climb on the 3rd step of the podium.

Which places him among the best archers in Normandy after only three years of practice.

He had Jean-Baptiste Leroy by his side on the 1st step after brilliantly winning the final.

The Andelysien retained the title of champion of Normandy which he had acquired in 2020.

The indoor season is now over except for Jean-Baptiste Leroy who will defend his chances at the French championships, which will take place on March 5 and 6, 2022 in Vittel, in the Vosges.
