GROSSETO – Good successes for the Maremma archers at the Rimini indoor regional championships, with the victory of the junior men’s team and the second place in the category for Ginevra Landi.
About 1270 athletes from all Italian companies participated in the event that took place at the Rimini Fair, divided into various categories: Male and Female, by age (Senior, Junior, Students and Boys) and by the type of bow ( Bare Arch, Compound and Olympic Arch).
The delegation of the Maremmana Arcieri Company was very large and included in the Junior Olympic Arch category for men: Matteo Bilisari (also in the youth national team), Lorenzo Corraro and Samuele Rosso; in the Arco Olimpico Junior female category Ginevra Landi (archer of the youth national team), Ilaria Tognozzi and for the first time in an Italian championship Alessia Bilisari; in the men’s Olympic Senior bow the “veteran” Maurizio Rossi. The competition was divided into five days, and began on Wednesday with the accreditation of the first bare arch maple trees.
For the Maremma athletes the races started on Saturday, with the first qualifying arrows, in which they immediately distinguished themselves. In the Junior Men’s Olympic Arco general classification (where the total scores achieved in the qualifications are taken into account), Matteo Bilisari ranked fourth missing the podium by a whisker, having achieved the same score as the third classified, but with an arrow in 10 less. ; in the Junior Women’s Olympic Bow category, Ginevra Landi was placed second, earning the silver medal.
The other participants were classified as follows: Lorenzo Corraro seventh place (Arco Olimpico junior Male), Ilaria Tognozzi twenty-second place (Arco Olimpico female student), Alessia Bilisari twenty-fourth place (Arco Olimpico Girls female), Maurizio Rossi forty-fifth place (Arco Olimpico senior male) ).
In the team competition, Maremmana Arcieri, on the other hand, in the Junior section made up of Matteo Bilisari, Lorenzo Corraro and Samuele Rosso Samuele, won gold, thus climbing to the top step of the podium.
On Sunday the clash competitions were held, where the first classified of the day before entered. The qualified for the Maremmana Arcieri were Matteo Bilisari and Ginevra Landi.
Bilisari stopped in the round of 16 in the clash with Matteo Canovai of ASD Arcieri Augusta Perusia. Landi reached the quarters in the clash with the Olympian Tatiana Andreoli (Fiamme Oro), after defeating the Olympic champion Claudia Mandia (GS Fiamme Azzurre).
In this phase, just for the record, only the “big names” of the Italian archery movement compete, including the Olympic, national and international champions. So honor to the athletes from Grosseto who had the privilege of clashing with these champions.
The clash competitions for the teams were also held on the same day. The Arco Olimpico men’s team qualified for Maremmana, made up of Bilisari Matteo, Rosso Samuele and Rossi Maurizio (who replaced Lorenzo Corraro). Ours were defeated in the quarter-finals at the Shoot Off arrow (play-off arrow), by the Voghera team captained by the Olympic champion Mauro Nespoli.
The Maremma delegation was supported and motivated by the technician Fabio Giomi, who accompanied and followed the athletes on the shooting line.
