The second day of competitions at the 2022 World Cup shooting gallery stage, currently underway in Cairo, ended with the qualifying round of the men’s 10m compressed air pistol. This is how things went on the firing lines of the Egyptian range.
Among the eight who enter tomorrow’s semifinals, there are no Italians. To appear in the list are instead: the Russians Artem Chernousov (591/600) and Vadim Mukhametyanov (584), the Indian Saurabh Chaudhary (584), the Turkish İsmail Keleş (584), the Latvian Emils Vasermanis (583), the Germans Michael Schwald (582) and Robin Walter (582) and Azerbaijani Ruslan Lunev (582).
A pity for the blues. Paolo Monna in fact closed in 13th position, at an altitude of 580/600 (97-95-99-95-98-96), sinning precision in the second and fourth series, both closed with a score of 95/100, while Alessio Torracchi and Luca Tesconi respectively placed in 20th (577) and 23rd position (577), but with the same score.
Finally Federico Nilo Maldini. The young man, practically making his debut in the World Cupexcept for the stage of Osijek last year (where however I finish 11th), participated to get points to put in his ranking, closing with a virtual 28th place at an altitude of 576.
The semifinals and finals of the contest that will award the first victory of this 2022 are scheduled for tomorrow.
