Pablo rodriguez: For me, it was always about the sense of community.Aguada wasn’t just about winning games; it was about something bigger. It was about playing for the red and green,for the neighborhood,for each other.Those Friday night games at the Estadio Aguada, with the roar of the crowd deafening, those are memories that will stay with me forever.

Moderator: Aguada’s trophy cabinet boasts an impressive collection of championships – ten in total. which victory holds a special place in your heart?

Pablo Rodriguez: That’s a tough one! Each victory was special for its own reasons. But perhaps the most meaningful was our first Uruguayan Basketball League title in 2012/2013. After striving for that championship for so long, it was an amazing feeling to finally achieve it. Seeing the joy on the faces of our fans, the tears of disbelief, it was truly overwhelming.

Moderator: We’ve seen Aguada evolve throughout the years, adapting to changes in the game and nurturing new generations of talent. What do you see on the horizon for the club?

Pablo Rodriguez: aguada has always been about looking forward. They have a strong cadet program, nurturing young talent, and they have shown a willingness to embrace new ideas and strategies. I truly believe that Aguada has the potential to continue their success in the years to come.

Moderator:In recent years, we’ve seen growing discussions about the future of basketball in Uruguay, the need to further develop youth programs and secure more investment in infrastructure. What are your thoughts on these discussions?

Pablo Rodriguez: It’s a crucial conversation, there’s no doubt whatsoever. We need to ensure that basketball continues to thrive in Uruguay. We need to give our young athletes the opportunities and resources they need to succeed, both on and off the court. This means investing in youth programs, improving facilities, and fostering a culture of excellence. Aguada’s success has always been fueled by its tireless commitment to these values, and I believe that this should be replicated across the country.
