The Dominican Republic basketball team recovered this Sunday from the day before’s defeat against Canada, sealing their match against the Bahamas with a resounding 90-65, in Group C of the 2023 World Cup qualifier.
With this victory, the Dominican Republic certified its qualification for the second round of qualifying, as did Canada, which also won its match this Sunday, 94-46, against the Virgin Islands.
In their match, played at the Palacio de los Deportes in Santo Domingo, the criollos began in tow and finished the first quarter with a 5-point disadvantage.
As of the second period, the Dominicans recovered and made their superiority palpable in all aspects of the game, reaching an advantage of up to 32 points on the scoreboard.
The top scorer of the match was Andrés Féliz, with 25 points, including seven triples, with which he was decisive for the Dominican victory. EFE
