Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has spoken openly about his own suicidal thoughts, mental health problems and substance abuse. In a post on Instagram, the Australian Open winner wrote in detail about “one of my darkest phases” three years ago: “I was lonely, depressed, negative, abused alcohol, drugs, pushed away family and friends. I felt like I was with not being able to talk or trust anyone.”
