INDOSPORT.COM – Persib Bandung until entering the 27th week has collected 54 points and is three points adrift of the leader of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 standings, Bali United who collected 57 points.
According to Persib coach, Robert Rene Alberts, the chances of Maung Bandung’s squad to climb to the top of the standings and become League 1 champions in 2021-2022 are still very open, because there are seven remaining matches for Bobotoh’s pride team in the highest caste competition of Indonesian football.
The closest match that will be played by Persib in the 2021-2022 League 1 competition, is against Persija Jakarta in week 28. The match will be held at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Tuesday (01/03/22).
“We are now only three points adrift of Bali who are in first position, so with seven games remaining, it’s normal to still hope to catch up with him and be at the top,” said Robert Rene during a virtual press conference ahead of the match on Monday (28). /02/22).
The former PSM Makassar coach said, to maintain Persib’s chances of winning in the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition, the Maung Bandung squad must win full points in the remaining second round matches, including when they faced Persija.
If they manage to win over Persija, then Bobotoh’s pride team will move up to second place and shift Arema FC, which currently has 55 points.
The target of securing full points in the remaining matches of the second round, is not expected to be a burden for his team. In fact, according to Robert Alberts, this should be used as motivation so that the Maung Bandung squad can perform optimally and win.
“We have to win the match against Persija, hopefully this won’t be a pressure. Because if we win then we can at least catch up with Arema and this should be a motivation, not a pressure,” said Robert Alberts.
