The International Judo Federation is removing Putin from honorary presidency

The International Judo Federation (IJF) announced on Saturday that it was removing Vladimir Putin from the position of honorary president of the IJF.

The IJF has made such a decision in view of Russia’s invasion of Ukrainian territory.

“As a result of the war conflict in Ukraine, the International Judo Federation has announced that it has removed Vladimir Putin from the post of honorary president and ambassador of the IJF,” the IJF said in a statement.

The IJF also announced the cancellation of the Grand Slam tournament in Kazan, Russia, scheduled for May 20-22.
