The Washington Football Team is expected to remain with the temporary name next season. That’s what the president of the franchise, Jason Wright, told the ABC network, from the capital of the United States.
In July, Washington decided not to continue the team’s old name, a pejorative term in relation to American Indians, and in the same month, announced the occasional complementation that would be used in 2020.
– There is a good chance that we will be Washington Football Team next season.
The team’s owners have always resisted the name change. The current one, Dan Snyder, had already publicly said he was against the change, but after the death of George Floyd in May, while in Minneapolis police custody, he began to face pressure to change his name from investors and sponsors.
