Valencia joins as a new venue for a WTA 125

The Valencia International tennis tournament, which will be held from June 4 to 12, will become the first WTA tournament in the Valencian Community and one of the few that are held in Spanish territory after a negotiation of several months between the director of the tournament, Anabel Medina, and the company Tennium.

The creator and director of the tournament, together with this sports company, organizer of events such as the Count of Godó (Barcelona), the ATP Argentina Open (Buenos Aires), the European Open in Belgium and the Senior Masters Cup, will bring “the best women’s tennis to Valencia to make a leap in quality to the event,” said sources from its organization.

Valencia will have great prizes for its participants and the complementary activities that have so far given it its own identity: the U-16 tournament will offer visibility and opportunities to emerging players and will host solidarity initiatives for athletes with disabilities.

It will become the first world tournament to fully balance its carbon footprint, it will be part of Valencia’s initiative to become one of the hundred cities chosen by the European Union to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
