Tragedy. A young football player died defending Kiev

Vitaly Sapylo started playing football at an early age and thanks to his hard work, diligence and enthusiasm, he got into the junior academy of the Karpaty Lviv club. He had a big dream, to play football on a professional level, but unfortunately he will never fulfill it.

At the age of only 21, he enlisted in the army and became a tank commander in the ongoing war in Ukraine, which came under the invasion of Russian troops. He died defending the capital Kiev on the night of Friday to Saturday.

People from his home village reported the death. “Our hero, our pride! We express our condolences to our parents and family. He laid down his life for us, “they said in the announcement.
