The Region of Murcia will have its first participation in the national Wheelchair Basketball Championship . The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, today attended the presentation of the Children’s Wheelchair Basketball team that will represent the Region of Murcia on March 5 and 6 in Tres Cantos (Community of Madrid).
For the regional chief executivethe Region of Murcia is known, among other things, “for the great athletes we have” and an example of this is “the nine players and four coaches of this team”.
In this sense, he pointed out that the regional government works to promote sport “in every way” and that “we have to continue supporting and promoting sport for the benefits it has in terms of education, health and tourism, but also because it is a tool for equality and inclusion”.
During the act, López Miras explained that his Executive supports social entitiesthe sports federations and clubs so that “these barriers that we are breaking are less and less and we are a greater reference in all areas of sport”.
