From the ASD Archers of the Sea
Archery is a noble, Olympic and multi-faceted discipline. Most of us are used to seeing it right at the Olympics, when athletes from all nations compete with great skill with arrows on targets with colored circles.
But behind the competition, at the single shot, there is really a world: a centuries-old history, indeed a thousand-year one, as well as techniques, training and strategies that have been refined over time to almost reach perfection. Today archery has become a symbol of fair play and healthy competition, but also of concentration and extreme precision. It is therefore a postural technical sport where specific training is essential: having a gym available where you can exercise the repetitiveness of the gesture is of extreme importance.
This is why we are really excited to announce to all our members (and to anyone interested in learning about this discipline) that it is now possible to train in the splendid Capoliveri gym. Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 pm to 10 pm, it will be possible to train indoors with shots that can reach up to 30 meters, a dream for archers who want to improve.
So far the results and the medals we have proudly put around our necks have been won without, let’s face it, adequate and continuous training. The prospect of collaboration with ASD Polisport Capoliveri also aims to improve this aspect, if we have obtained some results without being able to train properly, the future can only give us other great satisfactions.
But not only competition, having an area like this available for us means above all to encourage the promotion of archery as well as to make new specific courses for children and adults of all ages.
In the hope of a long and fruitful collaboration we thank the municipality of Capoliveri and all the boys of the ASD Polisport Capoliveri, in particular Claudia Ferri who has put great effort so that we could realize this little big dream for us.
