Vitoria-Gasteiz hosts the I Parabadminton International, a scoring event for the World Championship. In the Civic Center of Zabalgana they will compete 180 athletes from 35 countries among which are Japan, Korea, Australia, Peru or Brazil. Together with them, there will be fifty members of the technical staff and another 50 people accompanying them.
In addition, several figures from the world ranking will be at the 1st Vitoria-Gasteiz International Parabadminton Tournament. The Matches will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from March 1 to 5. On Sunday, March 6, the 22 finals of the different categories will be held. For this tournament, the seven courts of the Zabalgana Civic Center will be adapted with additional bleachers that allow to expand the capacity above 150 locations.

Livia López, Councilor for Sport and Health, pointed out that Vitoria “is going to host a great event that will allow us to enjoy an exciting, enriching and inclusive sport in a city committed to inclusive sport”. In the presentation of the tournament, the institutions have agreed that the international tournament “allows us to go one step further in aspiration to turn Vitoria into a city of reference for the world of badminton and para badmintonn”.
