These are two additional reinforcements recorded by Fos Provence! Egidijus Mockevicius and Deishuan Booker arrive on the gong in the Bouches-du-Rhône to participate in the rescue mission of the BYers, current last of Betclic ÉLITE.
The 29-year-old Lithuanian pivot replaces Kevin Tumba, not extended at the end of his freelance. At Le Mans last season, Iggy Mockevicius brought 5.2 points and 4 rebounds for 6.8 evaluation in 16 minutes. Note that he had not found a club this season. Just after formalizing his departure from the MSB, Deishuan Booker also went to Fos. This season, the American had compiled 7.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.1 steals for 8.3 rating in 17 minutes in 14 games played with the MSB. He will replace Kevin McClain, whose season ended with an ankle injury.
With these two recruits, Fos Provence recovers a big rebounder known for his physical qualities and who knows the Betclic ÉLITE, just like Booker who will bring speed and creativity to the back line of the BYers. The two players should be available to Rémi Giuitta on Saturday for the trip to Orléans. The Marseille coach is delighted with these arrivals.
“We get a pivot who knows the Betclic Elite since he went through Le Mans last season, even if he was physically impaired at that time (5.2 points, 4 rebounds in 15 minutes on average over 17 games). He has especially known big teams in previous years with Fuenlabrada the season before, and Rytas Vilnius, with whom he won the Eurocup in 2018 in a rotation role. He also finished top rebounder in the Italian championship under the colors of Pesaro (11.4 points, 11.5 rebounds on average per game) in 2018-2019. We had very good feedback from Le Mans, both about the person and the player he is.
We were also looking for a back position following the bad news concerning Kevin McClain who will be out until the end of the season. We are therefore happy to be able to recover a player who was also already playing in BetClic Elite at the MSB, in a formation where there was very strong competition on the back lines and with which he still showed good things. He is a talented player who will bring us speed and creativity. Even if he is still a young player, he has already had an interesting career in Europe, including a good season in Germany at BG Göttingen last season”.
