With a 105:118 against the Memphis Grizzlies (43-20), the San Antonio Spurs (24-38) ended their annual “Rodeo Road Trip” in the National Basketball Association (NBA) on Monday (local time). Jakob Pöltl, who was recently absent in Miami due to back problems, scored a double-double (16 points, ten rebounds) and four assists, two steals and one block in 32:23 minutes. The Texans have had four wins in eight consecutive away games.
In the third place in the Western Conference, the Spurs tore off decisively towards the end of the third quarter. The Grizzlies couldn’t take an eleven-point cushion in the final section. All-Star Ja Morant played big, setting a career-high 52 in the NBA. Top scorer for the Texans, who also lost their third meeting with Memphis this season, was Lonnie Walker IV with 22 points.
On Thursday, San Antonio will play a home game again after almost a month. Opponents are the Sacramento Kings, who won the Oklahoma City Thunder 131-110.
Bucks win again
The top duel in the Eastern Conference was a clear affair for the Miami Heat (41-21). The leader won 112-99 against the second-placed Chicago Bulls (39-23), who were still tweaking results in the final quarter.
After the last two losses, the Milwaukee Bucks (37-25) have returned to winning ways. The defending champion didn’t give the Charlotte Hornets (30-33) a chance at 130:106.
