The first leg of the semi-final of the Coppa Italia between AC Milan and Inter has ended in a scoreless draw: 0-0. Alexis Saelemaekers could have scored in the opening phase, but missed it. After 67 minutes, our 22-year-old compatriot was replaced.
Alexis Saelemaekers has had to make peace with substitutes in recent weeks, but our compatriot was once again in the starting line for the important semi-final of the Coppa Italia against city rival Inter. Still a sign of confidence from coach Stefano Pioli.
AC Milan were the strongest team during the first half. After ten minutes Alexis Saelemaekers was able to take advantage of a bad pass from Samir Handanovic, but the Inter goalkeeper corrected his mistake himself and took the attempt from our compatriot. Moments later, Theo Hernandez and Rade Krunic came close to scoring the opening goal, but it was still 0-0 at halftime.

Saelemaekers and Milan did not come much closer to a goal. After 67 minutes, Anderlecht’s youth product was replaced. His stats this season remain below par: three goals and two assists. Too little for a winger.
In the second half there was a lot of fighting from both teams, but less good football and even less danger of goal. Everything will have to happen in the return. It is scheduled for April 20.
