LONDON, KOMPAS.com – Liverpool coach, Juergen Klopp, strongly condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine which has been going on since Thursday (24/2/2022).
Klopp believes Russian President, Vladimir Putin, is the only person to blame for the hundreds of lives lost from the Russian invasion.
This was conveyed by Jurgen Klopp after leading Liverpool to the English League Cup title on Sunday (27/2/2022) local time.
Liverpool are entitled to a podium finish in the English League Cup after overthrowing Chelsea 11-10 (0-0) via penalty shootout at Wembley Stadium.
Right on the day of the English League Cup final, the Ukrainian Ministry of Health reported 352 civilians, including 14 children, had died as a result of the Russian invasion.

The number of injured after four days of Russian military operations reached 1,684 people, 116 of whom were children.
Recently, the governments of Russia and Ukraine are rumored to be holding a meeting in the near future around the Ukraine-Belarus border.
This was confirmed directly by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on Sunday (27/2/2022).
However, Volodymyr Zelensky still doubts the outcome of the meeting will end the war in his country.
Volodymyr Zelensky’s doubts are quite reasonable, because until now, there is no sign of the Russian troops will withdraw despite the criticism from many parties.
Vladimir Putin has even ordered Russia’s nuclear forces to be on standby on Sunday (27/2/2022), to face possible attacks from Western countries.

Regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Klopp firmly condemns all decisions and actions of Vladimir Putin.
“I’m almost 55 years old and I still don’t understand how one person can put the whole world in such a situation (of war), especially in Ukraine,” Klopp said. Daily Mail, Monday (28/2/2022).
“I know a lot of Ukrainians as well as Russians. What is happening now is definitely not because of the public of the two countries,” said Klopp.
“It was a truly evil one man (Putin) war!” Klopp added.
Furthermore, Juergen Klopp admitted that he was very worried because many of his former foster children came from Ukraine.

Klopp really hopes that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will end in the near future because there have been many victims.
The German coach also hopes that the world public will continue to pressure Vladimir Putin and Russia so that the war in Ukraine will end soon.
“My former players are probably at war right now. I don’t know exactly when they will return to their home countries,” Klopp said.
“We all have to continue to show solidarity for Ukraine. It seems we all can’t stop Putin,” said Klopp.
“But, at least, we can cause more problems than he (Putin) thought. Maybe the pressure from all of us will help the people in Ukraine,” Klopp added.
Regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, FIFA as the world’s highest football authority has taken a stand.

FIFA strongly condemns the Russian military operation. Not only that, FIFA has also imposed five sanctions for Russia.
One of the sanctions from FIFA is that the Russian national team is prohibited from flying the flag and playing the national anthem in international matches.
Not only that, the Russian national team is prohibited from competing or competing under the name “Russia”.
Instead, the Russian national team must use the name “Football Union of Russia (RFU)”.
In a statement, FIFA also stated that it would consider imposing additional sanctions for Russia, including a ban on playing in all international competitions.
