Buffon made his professional debut on November 19, 1995, but will still be in goal in 2024. The legendary goalkeeper, now 44 years old, will then be 46 years old and have been playing professional football for just under 30 years.
The 2006 world champion is clearly delighted with Parma, the club where he entered the youth academy at the age of 11 and made his professional debut.
“This is a beautiful and exciting challenge for me,” said Buffon. “I can still give everything and I want to continue to do so for as long as possible.”
Buffon already has 243 appearances for Parma, in addition to his 685 appearances for Juventus and 25 appearances for PSG. He has also scored 176 goals for the national team.
