The members of the executive committee have announced a ban on Russian teams participating in club competitions organized by FIBA ​​Europe. But also the non-participation of Russian officials, including supervisors, delegates or even referees, the ban on matches being played in Ukraine and the suspension of Russia’s candidacy for EuroBasket in 2025.

In the Women’s Euroleague, the exclusions of Yekaterinburg and Dynamo Kursk led to an overhaul of the quarter-final table. As a result, Lattes-Montpellier, which had to find Fenerbahce beforehand, will finally face Sopron Basket (Hungary). FIBA also made clear its solidarity with the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian Basketball Federation.
