Out of contract in June, midfielder Hector Herrera (31, 15 La Liga appearances this season) will leave Atletico Madrid and Europe at the end of the season. Free to sign with the club of his choice for next season, the Mexican has signed “a pre-contract until the 2024 season with an option for 2025” with Houston Dynamo FC, an MLS franchise.
The Tijuana native joined Atletico in 2019 from FC Porto. This season he has played 20 games for the Colchoneros so far, only 6 of them as a starter.
