Russian rich people with ties to the Kremlin regime face sanctions after the Russian army invades Ukraine. Abramovich does not face any yet, however, after the events in Ukraine, he entrusted the management of the club to the legal council of the Chelsea charity.

The current owner, who has been the owner since 2003, also stressed that the sale of the club will not take place quickly, but in due process.

In addition, he said, he tasked his team to set up a charity to which the proceeds of the sale would go, and the money would then go to the victims of the war in Ukraine. “This will include providing the necessary funding for the urgent and immediate needs of the victims, as well as supporting long-term recovery work,” he wrote.

Swiss businessman Hansjörg Wyss has already expressed interest in buying Chelsea. The eighty-six-year-old billionaire said this in an interview with the Blick daily.
