The national judo preselection trains in Jalisco – El Occidental

The national judo preselection is training in Jalisco, with a delegation of 39 athletes, they have started their first camp of the year at the Code Jalisco facilities, with judokas from the junior and first force categories.

“We are advancing the times. Right now we should be in the general preparation stage, but since we have the Pan American Championship on the doorstep in April, and the National Championship next week, we are modifying the preparation time, so we already got into pre-competitive work”, commented Germán Ayala , Technical Director of the selection.

Among the national team are seven from Jalisco: Arath Juárez, Renata and Fabiola Ortiz, Corina Espadas, Ilse Martínez Claro, Alexis Esquivel and Melissa Santos, who are confident of joining the final team that will participate in the Pan American of the specialty, to be held in Lima , Peru from April 9 to 14.

“The idea is to make another filter of this pre-selection so that those who will compete in the Pan American are defined. Fortunately, the national team was able to come to Code to train, thanks to the facilities that were granted to them,” said Sara Cárdenas, president of the Judo Association of the state of Jalisco.

The preselection will continue until March 4, and he will be ready to compete in the National of the specialty, to be held from March 10 to 13 in Mazatlan, before leaving for the Pan American Junior (U21) and Senior in Peru.

The coaching staff in this camp is made up of Jorge Luis Atencio Ramírez, head coach of the Senior team; Professor Idalia Rodríguez; Federico Vizcarra, head of Junior coaches, and Marco Aurelio Ortiz, as well as Germán Ayala, as Technical Director.
