The top game of the NBA also had a lot of excitement to offer. Defending champion Milwaukee Bucks beat the Miami Heat after a remarkable comeback.
Giannis Antetokounmpo leads Milwaukee Bucks to victory
Despite being 15 points behind with six minutes remaining, the Bucks, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo (27), still clinched a 120-119 home win over the leaders of the Eastern Conference.
Greece’s Antetokounmpo had 28 points and 17 rebounds and gave his team a successful start to the Bucks’ top game week with an away game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday and a home game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.
Franz Wagner loses with the Orlando Magic against the Indiana Pacers
The Bulls are second in the Eastern Conference and the Suns are number one in the Western Conference. The Bucks are fourth in the East. The gap to the Philadelphia 76ers in third place remained unchanged despite the win because the 76ers won their home game against the New York Knicks 123-108. Newcomer James Harden (32) scored 26 points and was only slightly worse than Joel Embiid (27) with 27 points.
The Orlando Magic missed out on their third win in a row after giving up an 18-point lead against the Indiana Pacers and losing in overtime. After the 114:122, Berlin’s Franz Wagner (20), the best thrower in his team with 28 points, said: “This is a good opportunity to learn something.” (dpa)
