After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the game manufacturer EA has also taken action and will remove the Russian teams from FIFA 22.

In the course of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, game manufacturer EA has also drawn consequences. As the company announced, the Russian national team, like all clubs in the country, will be removed from the football simulation FIFA 22. This also applies to the mobile version of the game and online modes. In addition, EA kept further changes to other games open.

The world association FIFA, which also gave the series its name, and the European association UEFA had previously excluded the Russian teams from all competitions. This also affects both the national teams and the clubs.

Also real consequences for Russian teams

The last remaining European Cup participant Spartak Moscow was thrown out of the Europa League, opponents RB Leipzig received a bye into the quarter-finals. For its part, the “Sbornaja” is not allowed to take part in the playoffs for the World Cup in Qatar, which will take place at the end of March.

“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and, like many other voices from the world of football, calls for freedom and an end to the invasion,” EA said.
