Luka Dončič, the leader of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) club, the Dallas Mavericks, in his conversation with the prestigious North American media ESPN, recalled the first impressions of Kristaps Porziņģis’ change on the Washington Wizards.
It has already been reported that on February 10, the Mavericks switched Porziņģis to the Wizards in exchange for Dāvis Bertāns and Spencers Dinvidija. The club also won the second round from the US capital peak. In 34 matches this season, the Latvian stand out with an average of 19.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists, at the time of the substitution Kristaps was the second most successful basketball player of the Mavericks team.
“It simply came to our notice then. I had gone to bed a little and when I got up I saw that Porziņģis had been changed, ”Dončičs revealed. “I didn’t expect that at all, but I think you know things don’t always go the way you want.” The Mavericks superstar also commented on the team’s current atmosphere. “We still have things to improve, but our team’s chemistry is improving, which is one of the most important things to win the title,” said the Slovenian. “The key is always to be sure, because you never know what will happen.”
“My shape has improved during the season and it’s the key to success,” said Dončič. “I had a long summer and after that there was a little rest time, during which I would rest a little too much, so I wasn’t really ready at the very beginning of the season. I don’t care what people say, because those who like you talk good, those who don’t like say bad. ”
