Sebastián Gómez spoke about the difficult moment for Atlético Nacional and the match with Olimpia | Libertadores Cup

Atlético Nacional is going through a difficult moment in sports matters, receiving six goals in the last two games, one in the League and another in the Copa Libertadores, which has the team in difficulties, thinking about playing the next matches, against Olimpia this Thursday and the next Sunday in front of the DIM. Sebastián Gómez was forceful in his statements and hopes that he, along with his teammates, can reverse this stage.

“We are very old, we know that we must reverse the series by winning, the situation is complex, but we must deal with them and face them in the best way. Right now is where we must be stronger, we must compete and seek to advance in the series”, he commented.

In addition, “the motivation is that we play in the best team in the country and that we play an international tournament. We must measure ourselves to know what we are made of, we know how to compete in high performance and there are no excuses”.

As for what is going on in the team, Gómez pointed out that “pressure? we have it every day, at all times and more so in Nacional where we haven’t won a title. We have to run and win, we are responsible for reversing that situation. We are going to be at home, we must compete in the best way, we must get the best out of it”.

Thinking about what is coming against Olimpia this Thursday, Sebastián indicated that “Thursday is an opportunity to let go and show what we are made of, the one that does not do everything, is not good to be in Nacional. Each one must be examined if they serve to be in National. We have had failures, we have to recover, we all evaluate ourselves to measure up, here they demand you and this is ours”.

The midfielder gave his opinion on the moment that Aldair Quintana is going through and the self-assessment that the campus must do. “Aldair Quintana is a great human being, a great professional. I know he will come out of this moment, he has our support. He is not giving one hundred percent and each one should check if he is doing it. Given the decisions that are made, we are the ones in charge of getting ahead on the pitch”.
