Appointment for Saturday 2 April when the basketball teams of the Naval Academy of Livorno and the Military Academy of Modena will compete in a basketball match within the walls of the Modigliani Forum for charity

Sport and solidarity come together in the initiative “The match of the Academies“, that Saturday 2 April 2022 will see the basketball teams of theNaval Academy of Livorno andMilitary Academy of Modenaready to face each other in a basketball game within the walls of the Modigliani Forum of Livorno.
Sponsored by the Municipality of Livorno and sponsored by Fincantieri and Drassthe event (scheduled for 5 pm) takes on a beneficial character as the proceeds from the sale of tickets (which can be purchased at a cost of 9 euros on the site https://www.legsrl.net/eventi/accademia-mf/) will be entirely intended for associations in the Labronica area “Flying without wings”, “Italian Association of Down People Livorno” e “Autism Livorno”, gathered for the occasion in the solidarity network “In Cammino con noi”, which works in support of disability. Linked by a ten-year collaboration relationship with the aforementioned associations, the Naval Academy has decided, for this initiative, to involve the Military Academy and the Army
Italiano in the common intent of the two Armed Forces to support charitable organizations operating in the social sector.
All this was presented, on Wednesday 2 March, in a press conference inside the Naval Academy of Livorno, in the presence of the Division Admiral Flavio Biaggi (Commander of the Naval Academy of Livorno), of the Brigadier General Davide Scalabrin (Commander of the Military Academy of Modena), of the deputy mayor Libera Camici and of the representatives of the associations of “In Cammino con noi” and of the sponsors Fincantieri and Drass.
“This is an event that binds us to associations that we have supported for a long time – he begins Admiral Biaggi – and more generally to the whole Livorno area which for us at the Naval Academy is like a second home. This year we have thought of an initiative in the name of friendship, charity, within a family and non-institutional atmosphere, in which the Academy, the Navy and the Army were an active part in the organization, and this seemed right to me, after two years characterized by a pandemic that did not allow us to promote activities of this kind. Alongside the solidarity purpose there is, of course, the sporting one. Sport has always been the bearer of noble values such as team spirit, loyalty, dedication, which are the foundations of training in our Academies. I am sure – he concludes – that the city of Livorno and its citizenslovers of sport and with an inclusive and solar character, many will respond to this day of sport and solidarity, and for this I thank them in advance “.
“We could not but enthusiastically adhere to an initiative of this magnitude – intervenes the General Scalabrin – the basketball game represents a day of celebration, not just sports, to be experienced alongside special people. We hope to sell as many tickets as possible, so that we can help these important associations to carry out all the activities in support of children and their families ”
